The challenges…During these last years, social and eco-
nomic conditions changed rapidly, bringing us face-to-
face with an every-changing reality and making the need
for immediate and substantive help to people who turn to
us for assistance and support more urgent and impera-
tive than ever. At PRAKSIS, the most vital part is its hu-
man resources. The effort and dedication of everyone
– staff and volunteers – is what makes the difference in
the lives of our fellow men every day.
Common goal...PRAKSIS’ team is flexible and dynamic
and consists of people of different cultures, levels of
education, knowledge and backgrounds. What they do
share, through, is a common vision to improve the quality
of the services daily to the benefit of all our fellow men
who economically and socially excluded and lack access
to basic goods ...
In 2013, this team was expanded in terms of quality and
quantity thanks to new members joining in. Worth men-
tioning is the fact that many professionals from abroad
and people that have benefited from our services, choose
to volunteer for PRAKSIS. This by itself is a reason to cel-
ebrate, not only because new members add to the qual-
ity of our programs, but mainly because through these
volunteers we are able to have an open and continuing
dialogue open with all the active parts of our society.
Ongoing training…In order to cope with daily challenges,
we opt for continuous development, training and speciali-
zation through courses and seminars adapted in such
a way as to fit every professional in every field. At the
same time, recognizing the level of difficulty and effort
required for this kind of work, we have created support
and supervision groups, so that we can work effectively
as professionals and as people, alongside those seeking
our support.
Young professionals…The number of students from edu-
cational institutions in Greece and abroad that choose
PRAKSIS for their internship is steadily increasing. Young
boys and girls join PRAKSIS to gain professional experi-
ence and, with their passion ideas, effectively strengthen
the human resources team of PRAKSIS. Many even re-
main at PRAKSIS after their internships as volunteers.
At PRAKSIS people turn their vision into action
