The Pediatrics Department aims at vulnerable pop-
ulations, regardless of their nationality, groups that
have limited and/or no access to medical services.
•
The Department provides pediatric examination;
treatment of acute cases; medical referrals where
necessary; monitoring of chronic cases; examination
for obtaining individual health cards for students; and
bimonthly vaccination programs.

At the same time, the social service of the Pediatric
Clinic provides counseling and guidance to social
welfare issues related to children.
•
In parallel, the Mobile Unit of PRAKSIS visits schools,
camps and communities, in order to provide pediat-
ric examination and health information.
Between February 1, 2013 up to January 31, 2014, the
Pediatrics Department examined 1,799 cases in the
PRAKSIS Polyclinic of PRAKSIS. The Mobile Unit con-
ducted 128 excursions in primary schools, Centers for
Housing Minors, and Unaccompanied Juveniles Deten-
tion Centers, in cooperation with immigrant communities
and other NGOs.
The main country of origin for patients was Afghanistan,
followed by Greece, Nigeria, Albania, Syria, Somalia and
Ethiopia.
Five vaccination days were scheduled, in cooperation
with an NGO working in the field, in which16 children
were vaccinated with 26 multivalent vaccines, protecting
against 78 diseases; 38 children were vaccinated with 60
multivalent vaccines, protecting against 152 diseases;
and 143 children were vaccinated with 77 multivalent
vaccines, protecting them against 179 diseases.
