PRAKSIS, in collaboration with the coordinator and implement-
ing agency of the program, ARSIS (Social Organization of Sup-
porting the Youth), and with the municipality of Thessaloniki,
participates in the operation of a broadened Network of Social
Structures in PRAKSIS with the title “Social Structures for Ad-
dressing Poverty in Thessaloniki”. This action is implemented
by the Operational Program Development of Human Resources
2007-2013, with co-funding by the European Social Fund. With
this program, PRAKSIS strengthens the operation of the Social
Pharmacy which has operated in the Polyclinic in Thessaloniki
(Arkadioupoli 1 and Ag.Dimitrios) since 2004, through which the
Homeless Day Center in Thessaloniki also started operating.
SOCIAL PHARMACY
In the Social Pharmacy, apart from receiving medicine, benefi-
ciaries also the opportunity to receive psychosocial support for
issues that might be troubling them, information and updates
about the operation of the services, the organizations and the
structures in general which are directly related to the satisfac-
tion of their social needs.
AIM OF THE STRUCTURE:
The aim of the structure is the provision of medicine to at least
100 homeless, poor, unemployed and uninsured citizens every
month, which is considered a necessary condition to improve
and restore their health. It also restores their connection to medi-
cal facilities so their health conditions can be observed. At the
same time, a social worker for the program acts according to on
an individual action plan, to manage the beneficiary’s situation-
and ensure the greatest possible assistance,utilizing the existing
social welfare system for addressing social problems.
INDIVIDUAL GOALS:
•
Research of needs for the allocation of medicine to the al-
ready mentioned population groups who are to be support-
ed by this specific action so that the best possible interven-
tion can be achieved

Research and conduct mapping of the social supporting
services forSocially Vulnerable Groups (i.e. N.G.Os, associa-
tions) but also of the pharmacies and of the pharmaceutical
companies of both the local and the wider community, and
the development of a network among the entities involved
•
The creation of a volunteer group who help with the imple-
mentation of specific actions

(ημεδαποί ή αλλοδαποί) που έχουν ιδιαίτερα προβλήματα –
ζητήματα επιβίωσης.
The direct target groups are the homeless, poor and unemployed
people (local and foreign), who have special problems and sur-
vival issues.
Indirect target groups include the entities which support and
strengthen the provision of information, sensitization, mobiliza-
tion and support for promoting and solving issues related to the
direct target group. Specifically: the church, the local govern-
ment, private corporations, bodies and associations, NGOs, the
police, medical institutions, etc.
