Since 5 July 2013, the Homeless Day Center in Athens
became a part of the programwith the title “Social Struc-
tures for Addressing Poverty in Athens”, in collaboration
with “KLIMAKA”, the Doctors of the World, Equal Society
and the municipality of Athens. In this way, the Day Cent-
er has been reinforced and thus able to expand its opera-
tion from 5 days a week to 7 days a week, from Monday
to Sunday, from 09:00 am to 12:00 pm, providing:
• Primary medical and health care and cover-
age of medical emergencies
• Showers and toiletry items
• Laundry services
• Clothing room
• A children’s corner for children of service
recipients
• Psychosocial support by specially trained
social workers
• Referrals and contacts for social services
and hospitals
• Opportunity for people to rest
• Internet and telephone access
• Beverages
