International Migrants Day
An event dedicated to immigrants was held at the center PRO-
PONTIS in Kalamaria, during which a documentary concerning
immigrants was shown. It was followed by a discussion with
PRAKSIS representatives centered on the daily problems that
immigrants face in today’s society.
16th Anti-Racism Festival
PRAKSIS took part in the 16thAnti-Racism Festival with infor-
mation kiosks where volunteers and PRAKSIS members talked
about the activities of the organization to people attending the
festival. For the purpose of these workshops and discussions,
a discussion entitled “Legal problems of immigrants and refu-
gees” was held by a legal representative of PRAKSIS and the
participation of various bodies and Integration Council of Mi-
grants (SEM) representatives. The experiential workshop “Put
Yourself in Others’ Shoes” and the Mobile School entertained
the younger audience while volunteers and members enjoyed
the football tournament that took place during the festival.
Thanassis Papakostantinou Concert
PRAKSIS hosted a kiosk at Thanassis Papakonstantinou’s con-
cert in Thermi, to inform attendees about its programs and col-
lect medication for its Social Pharmacy.
4th Thessaloniki State Symphony Orchestra
Underground Festival
For yet another year, PRAKSIS was invited to participate as a
guest sponsor of the National OrchestraofThessaloniki in the
4th National Orchestra of Thessaloniki Underground festival.
“Take action against Cancer”
The Mobile School participated in the “KINISOU ENANTIA
STON KARKINO/Take action against Cancer”relay race as part
of European MOVE week.
Hepatitis B Awareness-Raising Campaign
As part of the campaign “ROTA PROTA” (“Ask First”) and in an
effort to continue raising awareness against Hepatitis B, PRAK-
SIS launched a six-month national awareness-raising campaign
against Hepatitis B. For the entire month of November, PRAK-
SIS made available free tests for Hepatitis B. The blood test
was given daily at the Polyclinic in Thessaloniki while thePRAK-
SIS Mobile Unit toured two different parts of the city to inform
and raise awareness among members of the public.
In the context of this campaign, PRAKSIS held a press con-
ference on December 12, 2013 to announce the results of this
pilot month of tests. During the press conference,PRAKSIS an-
nounced sample demographic information and results, without
giving away any personal information of the people examined.
European HIV testing Week
With the message “MILA GIA TON HIV,KANE TO TEST/Talk
about HIV, do the test”, PRAKSIS sent its Mobile Unit to seven
different parts of the city of Thessaloniki in order to inform the
public and conduct HIV tests.
International HIV Day
The Mobile Unit participated in a series of events to inform and
raise awareness among the public about HIV.
Volunteer and Write
PRAKSIS took part in the event entitled “ETHELONTAS KAI
GRAFONTAS / Volunteer and Write” at Thess-Diktio during the
International Volunteer Day for Economic and Social Develop-
ment at Aristotelous Square, where an actual Press Office was
created, except that the journalists, photographers, cartoon-
ists, graphic designers were in fact residents of the city.
Information on HIV/AIDS
PRAKSIS attended an event at the University of Florina and
conducted several rapid HIV tests with the Mobile Unit of Infor-
mation and Examination.
