The Accommodation Center of Athens is under the man-
agement of PRAKSIS in collaboration with the HELLENIC
RED CROSS (responsible for the educational activities and
the creative occupation of the shelter recipients). In Patras,
PRAKSIS carries out activities for the unaccompanied mi-
nors seeking asylum and the HELLENIC RED CROSS car-
ries out the respective actions for the vulnerable groups
seeking asylum.
All the procedures for referrals to the Accommodation-
Centers follow the national procedures as well as the in-
structions of the E.U. for the accommodation structures.
It is projected that from 01/09/2013 to 30/04/2016, shel-
ter will be given to 150 people from vulnerable groups in
Patras, and to 300 unaccompanied minors in the region of
Athens and Patras in total for the whole project.
In cases where there is the possibility of family reunifica-
tion or voluntary repatriation, the necessary actions will be
taken. An important fact is that, beginning in March 2013,
IOM Greece, in collaboration with and supported by NGO
PRAKSIS and ARSIS, carried out the program of the vol-
untary repatriation of unaccompanied minors, titled: “Ad-
dressing the needs of unaccompanied minors (UAMs) in
Greece”.
The “Supporting Organizations that assist migrant popu-
lations seeking asylum in Greece” program is based on
the Memorandum of Understanding in the matter of asy-
lum and immigration, which was signed between the Do-
nor Countries (Iceland, Liechtenstein, and Norway) and
Greece on 1 November 2011.
The Project is sponsored by the European Economic Area
(Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway) through the International
Organization for Migration (IOM), Managing Authority of
the SOAM program.
The goal of the program is to protect vulnerable popula-
tions, both through the development of reception sites and
the improvement of services provided.
The program is sponsored by the European Economic

which is the Managing Authority of the program, from
01/09/2013 to 30/04/2016, with a total amount of
1.619.820.00 euros.
