CREATION OF JOBS
AT THE LOCAL LEVEL
THROUGH THE
PROGRAMS OF
PUBLIC BENEFIT IN
THE ATTICA REGION
PRAKSIS, in the framework of the operational program “De-
velopment of Human Resources”, Priority Axis 8 “Facilitation
of the access in employment”, “Creation of jobs in local level
via programs of public benefit in the Attica region,” which was
financed by the European Community Fund and the Ministry of
Labor and Social Security and in cooperation with the munici-
pality of Athens and the municipality of Kallithea, implemented
programs of public benefit for a duration of 5 months. The fi-
nancing of this action was entirely public expenditure and came
from community and national resources.
PRAKSIS implemented in total 2 projects with 7 actions in the
two cooperative municipalities of Attica employing in total 58
unemployed individuals.
1. “PRAKSIS – job creation at the local level
through programs of public benefit in the Attica
region, in the regional community of the central
sector” in cooperation with the Municipality of
Athens.
In cooperation with the Municipality of Athens, PRAKSIS imple-
mented 4 additional actions in the center of the town having as
a target the support of Socially Vulnerable Groups:
CENTER OF RECEPTION OF PEOPLE RELEASED FROM
PRISON:

Hiring and employment of 9 professionals
•
Support of 50 people released from prison
•
Linkages for the target group through referrals to entities in
the local community
INTERVENTION OF HEALTH EDUCATION IN THE STREETS OF
ATHENS.
•
Hiring and employment of 6 unemployed individuals
•
Healthcare and medical information for 594 beneficiaries
•
Provision of healthcare articles and kit of personal hygiene
to 594 beneficiaries.
•
The creation of a team of volunteers that helps in the imple-
mentation of individual actions of the proposed program.
•
The creation of a network of enterprises and entities (en-
terprises, non-governmental organizations, clubs of third-
country nationals that live in the area of implementation,
etc.) to support the activities.
